Abstract

The review focuses on two recently published CD-ROMs that are intended for freshmen students. Rainer Bassner's and Kristines Koebe's hypertext-based introductory course covers important topics like the use of library catalogues and bibliographies but is limited to online sources. Rückriem's and Stary's e-learning course is programmed in Macromedia's Authorware and uses a pleasing mindmap-style user interface. The CD wants to serve as an introduction to writing research papers, but also covers oral reports.
